A room to sleep, read and grow up in - calm at its base, playful in its details.
A child's bedroom carries a surprising amount of a day. It's where they wind down and fall asleep, where the toys land, where homework creeps in around age six, and where friends sit on the floor at ten. Good kids bedroom design in Ahmedabad starts by respecting all of that at once - planning a room that reads as calm and restful, then quietly makes room for play, reading and storage without the space ever feeling crowded.
We begin with the things that are hard to change later: where the bed sits for the best sleep, how daylight moves through the room, and where the wardrobe can go without eating the floor. Only then do we layer in the softer, changeable parts - colour, a reading corner, the pinboard that becomes a museum of the current obsession. That order matters. It's what lets a bedroom feel finished today and still be right in five years, rather than a theme that has to be torn out.
The best kids' bedrooms feel gentle before they feel fun. We keep the walls and big surfaces warm and neutral so the room rests the eye at bedtime, then let personality arrive in a few deliberate places - a coloured headboard, a striped rug, art hung at a child's eye level. Storage is designed at the child's height so tidying up is something they can actually do, and every edge and corner is detailed with small hands in mind. Below is the shortlist we design against on every bedroom.
A couple of the children's bedrooms we've designed across Ahmedabad - told for the thinking, not just the photos.
It depends on the size of the room, how much furniture is custom, and whether you want design only or full execution. As a rough guide, a considered kids' bedroom with a bed, wardrobe and custom storage usually lands somewhere between ₹3 and ₹12 lakh in Ahmedabad. We'll give you an honest estimate once we've seen the room and heard the wish-list.
We keep the bones of the room - the bed, wardrobe, lighting and layout - neutral and adaptable, and let the changeable things carry the personality: soft furnishings, a pinboard, a couple of playful accents. A cot corner becomes a reading nook, a low shelf gets raised, a play mat becomes a desk. A bedroom designed for a four-year-old should still feel right at eleven.
That's exactly how we like to work. We start from a calm, grown-up base - warm neutrals, natural materials, good light - and let character come through in a few considered details rather than themed wallpaper on every wall. The result is a room that feels like a child's, without dating the moment their favourite film changes.
Design usually takes about 3 to 6 weeks, and execution another 6 to 12 weeks depending on how much custom furniture and site work is involved. We share a realistic timeline at the start and keep you posted at every stage so there are no surprises.
Your child's age, the room size, and the dream - we'll take it from there.
